This leather journal is 5.5 x 3.5 inches in size and has 240 pages counting both sides. It is made of real cowhide leather in tan and tennun or handwoven textile by the Yakan. The textile has a leather backing to protect the stitches.

Tennun is the traditional woven cloth of the Yakan people of Basilan. The name itself means "something that has been woven." It is easily recognized by its bright colors and distinct geometric patterns, bold diamonds, zigzags, and intersecting lines that set it apart from other Philippine textiles.

In Yakan culture, weaving is a vital craft passed down through generations. Historically, all Yakan women were trained in weaving, making it both a practical skill and a cultural duty. Each piece of tennun carries the mark of its weaver's hands and the traditions of her community. More than just fabric, it is a living symbol of Yakan identity and heritage.*

This journal’s leather spine was hand-punched, then hand-sewn with strong thread using traditional long stitch binding. The paper is 85 gsm, acid-free blank, ivory-colored sheets made of pure ECF (elemental chlorine free) ecological pulp that is versatile and can take fountain pen ink and light watercolor.

This journal is perfect for special occasions such as for weddings and anniversaries or for gift giving.

This is a labor of love and will not be 100% duplicated.
