This 7.5x5.5 inches square journal has covers made of batik fabric from Bali, Indonesia. It has 240 pages (counting both sides) blank, ivory-coloured sheets made of pure ECF (elemental chlorine free) ecological pulp, 85 gsm, acid-free paper from Italy.
We used four needles and waxed cords to create compact chain stitches that tightly connect the pages onto the spine. This binding technique is known as Coptic binding, an ancient way of binding books used by early Christians in Egypt and dates back to as early as 2nd century AD to the 11th century.
Coptic-bound journals are perfect for diary writing, art journaling, sketchbook and scrapbooking as it allows the journal to be laid flat and opened up to 360 degrees.
